Revelations ricochet across the Square leaving relationships in tatters. Will Shirley let Glenda get away with the upset that she has caused? Jane makes a devastating discovery.

Shirley tells Glenda to leave, then questions Phil about their affair. Ben arrives, Phil’s furious with him for telling Shirley, and Shirley has to step in to stop Phil attacking his son. Shirley insists she’s leaving for good. Back at the house, nothing Heather or the boys say changes Shirley’s mind. They’re surprised when Shirley insists on having her hen night, it’s a chance to get drunk with her friends. At the Vic, the girls are concerned, they know Shirley loves Phil. Shirley escapes the pub. She sees Glenda leaving the chip shop, having just upset Jane. Shirley grabs Glenda’s hair and drags her back inside. Jane leaves Shirley to it. After threatening her and forcing her to say Jane is classy, Shirley tells Glenda to get out. Glenda tells Shirley she’s a joke, then disappears into the night. Alone, Shirley sinks to the floor and starts to cry – devastated.

Glenda tries to blackmail Ian insisting she wants £5000. Ian decides he’s not giving her another penny and tells Jane he slept with Glenda, begging her to forgive him.

Glenda returns to Jack and Ronnie’s flat to pick up her stuff. She’s hurt that Ronnie wants her gone and tries to get Jack to agree Ronnie’s impossible to get close to. Jack defends his wife. Roxy arrives, she’s glad Glenda’s going. Glenda leaves, telling her daughters she loves them with all her heart. Confused, Jack questions Ronnie, she finally reveals she’s been lying to Jack, she’s not been seeing the counsellor. He’s annoyed, but she insists she has no more secrets.

Dot complains to community meals about their treatment of Edward. Edward brings Dot flowers as a thank you. Jim’s already in bed, but Dot and Edward enjoy a game of dominoes.
