Zainab’s distraught that Masood lost their money gambling, and is ashamed to have to hide from the bailiff’s banging on their door. She goes to Yusef for another cheque, who readily obliges. Yusef moves into the flat above the surgery, and Denise reveals to Zainab that she and Yusef are taking their relationship slowly. Masood’s hurt when he overhears Zainab telling Yusef how much shame Masood has brought on her and the family. Yusef agrees and thinks Masood is nothing but bad news. Masood leaves before he can hear Zainab defend him to Yusef, insisting that Masood is a good man, and they’ll always have each other.

Fat Boy’s devastated when Grace tells him that Mercy’s leaving today. He offers to go with her to Nigeria but Mercy refuses. She tearfully says goodbye, and leaves in a taxi for the airport. Desperate, Fat Boy runs after the taxi, gets down on one knee and asks her to marry him.

The Royal Wedding celebration in the Vic is initially a flop until Alfie stops charging punters for tickets. The Vic fills up, but the TV cable blows. Unable to watch the wedding, everyone joins Dot’s street party in the square to watch ‘Princess’ Tiffany marry her ‘Prince’ Fat Boy.

Roxy agrees to go to the cemetery with Jack to visit James’ grave. Later, drowning his sorrows. Jack tries to kiss Roxy in an attempt to forget Ronnie. Roxy gently rejects his advances but gives him a shoulder to cry on.

Ben’s chased through the square by Nathan and his gang, and is frustrated that he can’t fight back or he’ll break his probation. He swears Abi to secrecy, but she accidentally lets it slip to Jay. Jay tries to force Nathan to apologize to Ben. Furious at Abi for revealing his secret, Ben storms off.
