Live from Bath Abbey

Presented by Petroc Trelawny

The opening night concert of Bath International MusicFest celebrates two major themes of this year's festival: Celtic music and Songs of Freedom. Wells Cathedral Chamber Choir sing Scottish settings by James MacMillan, while Joanna MacGregor and The Britten Sinfonia perform his frenzied, folksong inspired Second Piano Concerto. Norwegian Trumpeter Arve Henriksen stars in Lost Highway, MacGregor's arrangement of traditional American and Gospel songs. Marching them all in and out of Bath Abbey are the City of Bristol Pipes and Drums.
