HARDtalk Review of the Year

Stephen Sackur presents highlights from some of the show's most memorable interviews of 2011, including Stavros Lambrinidis, Ken Rogoff, Mahmoud Jibril and Carlos Acosta.

In a special year end edition, Stephen Sackur presents highlights from some of the show's most memorable interviews of 2011. In a year dominated by economic unrest and the Arab Spring, HARDtalk featured a variety of contrasting views. On the future of the Euro there was defiance from the likes of Greek Foreign Minister, Stavros Lambrinidis, who insisted his country would remain in the Eurozone and critics such as former IMF chief economist Ken Rogoff who was certain of a Greek exit. HARDtalk was in Egypt to see up close whether January's revolution has brought genuine change, and just days after the death of Colonel Gaddafi, Stephen Sackur spoke to the then interim Libyan Prime Minister, Mahmoud Jibril. But it wasn't all economic gloom and revolution. An in-depth interview with world famous ballet dancer Carlos Acosta was one of the year's best.
