Is 2012 to be a year of strikes and worker protests? Well, there's certainly plenty of discontent to go around. UK unemployment is still rising, incomes are being squeezed and pension provision downsized. HARDtalk's Stephen Sackur speaks to Mark Serwotka, leader of one of Britain's biggest public sector trade unions. He says the time has come for workers to stand and fight, but in this age of austerity, do unions have the will and the muscle for a prolonged confrontation?
