Both title-chasing clubs were in action, with Manchester City hosting West Brom and arch rivals Manchester United making the short trip to Wigan. Roberto Mancini's City appeared to be under the most pressure, having let the defending champions reel them in as they chase a first league championship in 44 years. The Sky Blues hope the full return of Carlos Tevez will trigger a defining winning streak.
Wigan were desperate to halt the charge of Sir Alex Ferguson's players, as the Latics battle desperately against the drop, while other relegation-threatened teams were in action with Wolves taking on Arsenal and QPR playing host to Swansea. Other highlights include Liverpool's trip to Blackburn.
