Rich Hall presents a very special Zone celebrating the great American comedians including George Carlin, Lenny Bruce, Mort Sahl, Bill Hicks, Woody Allen, Greg Proops and many more.

American stand up Rich Hall is our guide through a zone dedicated to the masters of American Comedy.

Across five and a half hours, there are documentaries, features and interviews on some of the great stairical legends such as Lenny Bruce, Mort Sahl and Tom Lehrer. Comedians like Jimmy Tingle, Will Durst and Greg Proops remember their own personal heroes and there's a four part series looking at the evolution of stand up comedy from the 1960s comedians such as Dick Gregory and Lenny Bruce, through to 1970s stars like Richard Pryor and Steve Martin, into the 1980s with Bill Hicks and Emo Philips and the explosion of 1990s chat shows and sitcoms featuring the likes of Dennis Leary and Jerry Seinfeld.
