Phil and Ben are rocked by news of Ian's return. Kat takes charge of the football team. Kim believes that Ray is about to take their relationship to the next level.

Posters are up advertising a Community Day featuring Shirley鈥檚 sponsored abseil. Ian鈥檚 still not talking. Backed up by Joey, Lucy resists Lauren and Tanya鈥檚 attempts to get her to take Ian back. Ben and Phil are shocked and unsettled to see the state Ian鈥檚 in and take him home with them in order to keep him away from any doctors or psychiatrists. Lucy covers her hurt when Lauren says Ian hasn鈥檛 asked about her. Ben鈥檚 nervous when Shirley talks to Ian. When Jay finds out Ian鈥檚 in the house he thinks Ben and Phil have lost their minds. Ian continues to be unresponsive until Shirley mentions Heather when his eyes are suddenly alert and focussed.

The football team鈥檚 enthusiasm is waning. Only Andrew turns up for a training run and Tyler, Anthony and Ray have dropped out altogether. Determined, Kat summons the boys to a meeting in the Vic and flirtatiously lectures them until they鈥檙e all back on board. Watching from across the bar, Michael and Derek admire Kat.

Ray lies to Kim that he鈥檚 got to go to the wholesalers when he鈥檚 actually doing early prep at the Vic because he鈥檚 got plans later. Alfie鈥檚 surprised to learn Kat鈥檚 had a key cut for Ray. Finding a pile of property details, Kim convinces herself Ray鈥檚 going to ask her to move in with him.

Derek pays Anthony a warning visit before his date with Alice. Taking Tyler鈥檚 advice, Anthony does everything he can to put Alice off during the date, but she quickly rumbles him. He relaxes when she admits she鈥檚 scared and they start getting on well. Anthony ends the date with a friendly kiss on the cheek, sure he鈥檚 off the hook. Derek鈥檚 not impressed 鈥� thanks to Joey he knows the date involved a McKlunky鈥檚 takeaway eaten in the Square.
