The 主播大秀 Office, Ministry of Justice and the Office for national Statistics have for the first time collated cross-department figures听on sexual offences.听In total, some 97,000 people are said to be a victim of rape or serious sexual assault each year.听A total of around 15,500 have reported to the police, but听only听1,000 cases ultimately resulted in conviction.听So why is it still going so wrong?听Jenni asks Vera Baird,听former听solicitor general, now police commissioner for Northumberland and听Holly Dustin, Director of The End Violence Against Women Coalition.

Miss Moti is a cartoon character with a difference. She is an overweight Asian woman with no superpowers and she sometimes gets stuck in stairwells because of her size. But how visible are fat women in cartoons and comic books?

Four years ago Woman鈥檚 Hour visited a mentoring scheme being run by the Manchester-based project, Reclaim. The five-month scheme, involving 30 young girls aged 12 to 13, was designed to increase their self-esteem and to inspire them to consider how and what makes a successful woman. But how has life changed for the girls since then? One of them, Sinead Andrews, was recently voted Manchester Young Woman of the Year and another, Frances Capon, has been involved in writing an award-winning blog about the first year of her daughter鈥檚 life. 听To discuss life after the scheme Jenni is joined by Sinead and Frances, as well as the Labour MEP for North West England Arlene McCarthy, who is a patron of Reclaim.听听
