Doreen Kutzke; German Yodeller

Most of us might still associate yodelling with Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music, but one woman from Germany thinks the practice is still something to be celebrated, even in 2013.听 grew up in a small mountain village in eastern Germany, and was taught to yodel at the age of six. On Friday the 1st of March she is taking part in the evening in London. This will be from 7 to 11pm at 183 Euston Road and there will be various events. She tells Jenni how yodelling has shaped her life and why we should all be trying it.听

Gender Specific Advertising

While some听brewers have specifically听targetted their products at women,听many have failed. Women account for just 17% of beer sales in the UK and 79% of women either rarely or never drink beer. Cider seems to be doing slightly better. So what should advertisers be doing to get it right?听 Is gender specific marketing patronising or good business sense? Is there still a market for gendered brands? Jenni Murray听is joined by Heather Alderson, managing partner of the advertising agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty and Siemon Scamell-Katz, author of 鈥淭he Art of Shopping: How We Shop and Why We Buy鈥.
