The mayor of Liverpool reacts to Everton FC's climbdown over changes to the club crest. What do we want from our future high streets? And is there too much 'poverty porn' on TV?

Everton FC has apologised for re-designing the crest without consulting fans. It says the new version will stand for the next season only, before a full consultation over a new design ready for the 2014-15 season. Liverpool Mayor Joe Anderson - a massive Toffees fan - welcomes the change of heart.
