In the 1930s, an elderly Tonto tells a young boy the tale of John Reid, the Lone Ranger. An idealistic lawyer, he rides with his brother and fellow Texas Rangers in pursuit of the notorious Butch Cavendish. Ambushed by the outlaw and left for dead, John Reid is rescued by the renegade Comanche, Tonto, at the insistence of a mysterious white horse, and offers to help him to bring Cavendish to justice. Becoming a reluctant masked rider with a seemingly incomprehensible partner, Reid pursues the criminal against all obstacles. However, John and Tonto learn that Cavendish is only part of a far greater injustice and the pair must fight in an adventure that would make them a legend.

1. The Same Deep Water As Me

This is a new comedy by Nick Payne whose last play, Constellations, was a popular prize-winner. This new one is about the compensation culture and shows the supposed victim of a car-accident conning a pair of Luton solicitors into putting in a claim against a big supermarket.

The Same Deep Water As Me runs at the , London until September 28.

2. The Sound of MusicÌýÌý
With a timeless score which includes ‘Do-Re-Mi’, ‘Climb Ev’ry Mountain’, ‘My Favourite Things’, ‘Sixteen Going on Seventeen’ and ‘Edelweiss’, The Sound of Music has inspired audiences across the world with its story of love and freedom.Ìý

3. Arrivals and Departures (the new Ayckbourn) At a London mainline rail terminus an elaborate trap is deployed in an attempt to capture a dangerous and elusive terrorist, codenamed Cerastes.

Major Quentin Sexton and his hand-picked SSDO (Strategic Simulated Distractional Operations) Unit are poised, ready to pounce. To assist them, civilian witness Barry Hawkins and Ez Swain, his ‘minder’, are on hand to confirm final identification.

What can possibly go wrong? For the luckless Major quite a lot really, when his key witness turns out to be a garrulous, suspiciously unreliable traffic warden and the minder, a troubled young female soldier with severe attitude problems. On top of which, is Quentin’s so-called elite unit really all it’s cracked up to be?
