This week, Jamie Cullum's guest is the American singer Bilal. The vocalist talks about getting into jazz at high school before going on to study it at music college in New York. He reminisces about the amazing jazz scene in the city where he met Roy Hargrove and saw some of the jazz greats perform.

Bilal also talks about what he calls his 'jazz album', his latest record A Love Surreal, which features his friend, the pianist Robert Glasper.

Jamie also showcases his love for all types of jazz and music rooted in jazz, representing new music from around the world.
