Boston's legendary Pixies join Jools on the second show of this series, and will be on hand to play a handful of classics and new tunes from their hugely influential catalogue. Janelle Monae - who shot to fame with her debut The ArchAndroid in 2010 - is also in the studio showcasing tracks from her new The Electric Lady album, which features collaborations with Prince and Erykah Badu.

Swamp rock blues legend Tony Joe White, whose songwriting credits include Polk Salad Annie, Steamy Windows and Rainy Night In Georgia, plays a couple of numbers from his new album Hoodoo.

Hotly tipped Glasgow electropop trio Chvrches make their Later debut with tunes from their debut The Bones of What You Believe. Also from Boston, the R&B stylings of Barrence Whitfield & The Savages, whose album Dig Thy Savage Soul is their first in almost 20 years.
