It's thought as many as three quarters of a million children witness domestic violence in the UK each year. New research reveals the devastating impact it can have on their physical and mental well being. More than half suffer physical abuse, emotional abuse or neglect. A quarter of the kids who see abuse show abusive behaviour themselves towards others - as if copying the behaviour they've grown up with.
But Five Live Investigates reveals specialist services in England which provide support and practical advice are being lost because of funding cuts. More than 30 have closed in the last three years
Plus, the programme hears how a change in the law means thousands of homeowners can no longer afford to take action against companies they say are blighting their lives through unwanted noise and odours.
