The judge is a woman with a reputation for听giving hard sentences (especially to the perpetrators of domestic violence) and, outside the court, the ANC鈥檚 Women鈥檚 League is holding placards saying 鈥淣o violence against women鈥�. Although the issue of domestic violence does not featured in the Pistorius trial, the trial is, nevertheless, provoking the country鈥檚 women鈥檚 groups and the international media to highlight the fact that South Africa has one of the highest rates of domestic violence in the world. Nomsa Maseko, the 主播大秀鈥檚 Southern Africa correspondent, joins Jenni to discuss the part that women are playing in the trial of Oscar Pistorius

Last week Jenni met three of the oldest and longest serving Baronesses currently sitting in the House of Lords: Baroness Sharples (91), Baroness Warnock (89) and Baroness Rendell (84). The average age in The Lords is currently 70 鈥� which is significantly older than some of the youngest peers who are in their early forties. So what is it like to sit on the benches of the Upper House with people who are more than twice your age, in an institution so steeped in history and tradition? We have known for many years that women with high density breast tissue have an increased risk of developing breast cancer. But we have never known why.
