Kirsty Wark asks if we take skin cancer seriously enough.

The advent of the package holiday and the fashion for tans has seen skin cancer rates soar in Scotland since the 1970s, according to a charity.
Cancer Research UK said about 18 people in every 100,000 in Scotland were diagnosed with malignant melanoma annually.

Figures show that there has been an increase in food bank use with the Trussell Trust handing out over 70,000 food parcels in Scotland and nearly a million across the UK last year. Charities like them rely on public donations and, indeed a major drive was recently held in Central Station after the Glasgow City Mission ran out of provisions to give to those in need. Whilst many think that the government and businesses should be doing more to tackle this issue others have accused the Trussell Trust of being misleading and emotionally manipulative and claim that the growing number of food banks inevitably leads to more people seeking out free food.
