Louise White asks whether new fathers are getting a raw deal.

Topic 1: ATTAINMENT GAP
The Joseph Rowntree Foundation today has published a report today on the significant attainment gap in Scottish education between the richest and the poorest children. It found that by the time they are five, pupils from poorer backgrounds can be up to a year behind their middle class peers developmentally; lacking basic skills such as literacy and problem solving.

Topic 2: NEW DADS
A conference called 'Postnatal Depression: The Impact on Dads' is running in Birmingham on Wednesday. Despite 1 in 10 men being affected by PND it's an area where the effects on men is often underestimated. Some think services are too 'mummy-centric' and that dads are often forgotten about before, during and after childbirth. For example experts are calling for more attention to be paid to fathers after recent research showed they can suffer from post-traumatic stress following difficult labours.
