A school has written to pupils telling them exam results are not everything and that 'there are many ways of being smart'. Cathy Macdonald asks listeners if exams matter to them.

TOPIC 1: ARMED POLICE
Scottish Labour's justice spokesman Graeme Pearson has called on Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill to clamp down on the spread of armed police. This follows the images that were released of three armed officers attending a fracas at a McDonald's in Inverness. Scotland's Chief Constable Sir Stephen House has previously insisted increased gun carrying is "not the big issue people say it is." He added: "We should encourage firearms officers to get involved in day to day activity because that keeps them real as police officers."

Cathy asks: Are you concerned about an increase in armed police officers?

TOPIC 2: EXAMS
A Head Teacher at a primary school in Lancashire has been praised by parents and fellow teachers after writing a letter to her pupils, telling them that exam results aren't everything, and that "there are many ways of being smart".

Cathy asks: Do exam results matter?
