A new report published by Citizens Advice Scotland exposes the shortcomings in childcare provision in Scotland. In the last year, nursery costs have risen by 8.2 per cent - far more than inflation. CAS says that many families find that childcare is either too expensive or simply doesn't exist in a way that works for them. As a result many parents are being pushed into poverty and many of those who want to work are unable to do so because they can't get suitable childcare.
