Louise White asks - are you lonely?

A new inquiry into the social impact of loneliness has launched.

The move by Holyrood's equal opportunities committee came as research has suggested more people have nobody to turn to in a crisis. MSPs aim to make a series of recommendations in the summer to help tackle the problem. Feelings of isolation affect people of all ages and backgrounds, and have been linked to mental health issues and physical problems such as smoking, obesity and premature death.

Have you ever experienced loneliness? Why do you think this was? What do you think could be done to effectively tackle loneliness?

You can have your say with Louise - call 0500 92 95 00 text 80295 or email morningcallscotland@bbc.co.uk.
