Louise White asks listeners if it is time to make smacking illegal and if they would change their shopping habits to help Scottish farmers.

Is it time to make smacking illegal? Call 0500 92 95 00.

Dr Lucy Reynolds, a consultant community paediatrician in Glasgow, has called for a ban on the practice saying it contradicts ambitions about protecting and respecting children.

AND

Would you change your shopping habits to help Scottish farmers?

Changing tastes are being blamed for a collapse in the amount of people buying Scottish potatoes last year. Along with a bumper harvest across Europe pushing down prices the popularity of rice and pasta has had a knock on effect on spuds sales (dropping by 拢105m to 拢170m). The Potato Council want you to eat more of the vegetable with their director Dr Rob Clayton said: "It's vital potatoes remain a staple on Scottish plates." And went on to state it's the council's mission to make potatoes "interesting and inspiring."
The Press and Journal have also recently launched a campaign urging shoppers to support local farmers by buying as much Scottish and British produce as possible.
