Honeytrap

tells the story of Layla, a 15 year old girl who lures the boy who is in love with her to his death. Writer and director Rebecca Johnson gives a girls perspective on gang culture in a story inspired by a true events. The independent British film explores the pressures that many young women experience daily and that in this instance have tragic consequences. Women in One

Reporter Abigail Hollick was inspired to interview strangers and find out what makes them tick after she spent weeks pushing her new born son in his buggy up and down the same streets and smiling at the same faces, wondering what they were thinking and whether they too had had two hours sleep. Abigail鈥檚 first confessional series, , focused on her neighbourhood but this time she turns her attention to women around the UK, starting in Leeds. 鈥榃omen in One' is a new Woman鈥檚 Hour collection of one minute (or thereabouts) interviews with strangers Abigail bumps in to. A diverse range of women express their fears, loves, losses and answer personal questions such as 鈥榃hat鈥檚 your relationship like with your mother?鈥, 鈥榃ho broke your heart?鈥 and 鈥榃hat keeps you up at night?鈥. The series starts in Leeds where women in Roundhay Park, Kirkgate Market, The Corn Exchange and Trinity Shopping Centre were more than happy to open up.

Clogs

Are clogs the shoes of the summer? Why do these wooden shoes which hark back to Roman times keep coming back into fashion? We talk to clog importer and designer and Stylist magazine鈥檚 Fashion Director Alex Fullerton.聽

Inheritance

Earl Spencer, the brother of the late Diana, Princess of Wales, has confirmed he will be leaving his 90-room stately home to his son rather than any of his 3 elder daughters. Saying he was aware of the 鈥減roblems鈥 with the concept of primogeniture, he argued the traditional system of inheritance has 鈥渨orked鈥 until now to ensure England鈥檚 finest estates were kept intact. With many aristocratic women protesting that they鈥檙e no less capable of managing the family鈥檚 fortune than their brothers, we speak to the founding member of an online campaign to make sure every inherited name or state of office can be passed on to men or women on equal terms.

First Lady

Without Winston Churchill鈥檚 inspiring leadership Britain could not have survived its darkest hour. But without his wife Clementine, he might never have become Prime Minister. By his own admission, the Second World War would have been 鈥榠mpossible without her鈥 and family friend Bernard Baruch said, 鈥榯hat he might have succeeded without her but he wouldn鈥檛 have done so well鈥. Clementine was Winston鈥檚 emotional rock and his most trusted confidante. Not only was she involved in some of the most crucial decisions of war, but she exerted an influence over her husband and the Government that would appear scandalous to modern eyes. Sonia Purnell talks to Jane about the unusual dynamics of this fascinating partnership and about the life of this original first lady of politics.

with Mary Soames speaking about her mother Clementine Churchill in 2011.
