Comfort and Support

Diane Louise Jordan plays uplifting spiritual music and considers comfort and support. Plus listeners' dedications and prayers.

Diane Louise Jordan plays spiritually uplifting and inspiring music through hymns, Gospel and choral classics. Each week the programme celebrates different aspects of the Christian faith through words and prayers as well as your requests and dedications. To mark the 10th Anniversary of the London Bombings and the 150th Anniversary of the founding of the Salvation Army, Diane thinks about comfort and support; how we get through the tough times and how we help others in their time of need.

'Legacy' - by Rosemary Critchley

Legacy

I have to live for both of us
To greet each brand new morning with a smile
And know that life will always be worthwhile
Ensuring through the pain
That you have not lived in vain.

I have to laugh for both of us
Your sense of fun and humour must not fade
The jokes, the laughter, games we shared and played
Your smile would make my pulses raise
And made my world a better place.

I have to love for both of us
To reach out and embrace those you hold dear
To reassure them that I feel you near
This parting is a transient state
Our love can never dissipate.

And when I die then both of us will rest content
With our life task complete
Till then I鈥檒l fight and not admit defeat.
And when I鈥檝e lived the life we planned
We can move forward hand in hand.
