Great Britain will have high hopes of securing a first medal of the championships as two-time Olympic champion Mo Farah looks to defend his 10,000m title. There is also the 200m event in the heptathlon, with Britons Jessica Ennis-Hill and Katarina Johnson-Thompson looking to end the first day of competition strongly.
