Born in the Punjabi city of Jalandhar to a family of musicians and singers, the sisters are the great-granddaughters of the late Bibi Nooran, a popular folk/Sufi singer in the 70's.
The Nooran Sisters were first noticed after their vocals were featured on an MTV track 'Tung Tung' in 2012, which then led to a Coke Studio session and their entry into Bollywood with the AR Rahman composed track 'Patahka Guddi' for the movie 'Highway' in 2013.
Hosted by Bobby Friction and recorded in late 2015, Jyoti and Sultana performed tracks including 'Allah Hoo', 'Bulleh Nu Samjhawan Aya' and 'Jinde Meriye'.
