Sushmita
Sushmita (who you hear about in the appeal) used to spend four backbreaking hours every day collecting water for her family in Surabari village in Nepal. Now, thanks to the solar-powered water pump Renewable World installed in her village, it takes her just 15 minutes.
Harnessing the power of the sun to pump water
These solar panels are life-changing; they power the pump bringing clean water to Sushmita鈥檚 village. With access to a clean and sustainable source of energy, her community now has tools and resources they need to lift themselves out of poverty.
A little energy, a lot of change
Access to solar-pumped water has transformed life in Sirubari. Each family can now access water from a tap no more than a few metres from their house, and all the villagers grow crops, even during the dry season.
