Trees & Wool in Whitehead
Whitehead's Diamond Jubilee Wood has 60,000 trees, but it's also one of only five UK regions that's a woollen wood! Community groups, schools and local craft groups have all contributed beautifully knitted woollen animals and plants that will pop throughout the woods. There's a hedgehog theme because the area is a haven for the animals - Growing Communities officer Alison Diver tells us more.
William Ferguson Massey
William Massey of Limavady was just 14 when he left with his family for New Zealand - known as 'Farmer Bill' he would be become the 19th Prime Minister of his adopted country in 1912. We learn more about his Roe valley roots and his antipodean achievements.
The Wildlife of Rathlin & Beyond
Photographer Tom McDonnell has captured some remarkable photos of Rathlin island's wildlife, including the elusive golden hare (see below) but he's also travelled the world photographing bears, buffalo and golden eagles. As he launches a new exhibition Into the Wild at the Flowerfield Arts Centre Portstewart, Anne Marie hears about some of his favourite shots and the importance of "fieldcraft".聽

Kelly's Coal yard Coleraine
Big black mountains of coal, men shovelling the black stuff from the boats on the Bann, the delivery man with the heavy bags over his shoulder covered head to toe in black dust - all familiar sights at Kelly's coal yard in Coleraine. Ronan Lundy went to meet managers past and present to learn more about the yard's 175 year history.
Drumalig Artists
A group of artists are gathering today (Saturday 7/5/16) at a Georgian Farmhouse in Drumalig, just outside Carryduff in County Down. You can see painters, sculptors, ceramicists and more practise their craft, and watch works take shape before your eyes. It's all happening at ceramicist Felicity Graham's house, who joins us to explain the thinking behind the event.
