Managing social anxiety and picking the right gear for warm-weather exercise

Gillian Russell finds out how to choose clothing and accessories for warm-weather exercise, plus managing social anxiety and fitness and learning with a running tour of a city.

With the good weather finally upon us, Gillian Russell talks to Claire Maxted from Trail Running Magazine about how to get your clothing and accessories right for exercising in warmer conditions. What's the best fabric to look out for and does it need specific UV protection? What should we take into account when we're choosing sports sunglasses? And just how much attention should we pay to hats and head gear?

Paula McGuire has suffered from social anxiety almost all her life. She talks about the novel approach she took for tackling it - trying out every sport in the Commonwealth Games ... and then undertaking a number of very challenging jobs!

What exactly is social anxiety and how does it differ from just ordinary shyness or apprehension? Nicky Lidbetter from Anxiety UK explains the symptoms and how it can best be managed.
