Money raised through the 'ice bucket challenge' has led to a breakthrough in motor neurone disease research. Scientists have found a gene which contributes to the illness.

Gordon Aikman was diagnosed with motor neurone two years ago at the age of 29, and told Phil how the condition affects him. He also thanked fundraisers who did the "ice bucket challenge" - the money has directly led to a breakthrough. Scientists have discovered a gene which contributes to the condition.

Also on the programme, with just over a week to go until the Rio games, three former Olympians - swimmer Steve Parry, gymnast Craig Heap and rower Annie Vernon join us for Team Talk.
