Dougie Vipond presents highlights of the 2016 Great Scottish Swim, at Loch Lomond. This annual event sees over 2500 swimmers taking the plunge in Loch Lomond and is Scotland's biggest open water event. With distances of half a mile, one mile and two miles open to swimmers of all abilities, many use it as an opportunity to raise money for charity.

In addition to the mass events are the elite men's and women's races, and headlining these this year are two British swimmers that will be competing for the first time since the Olympic marathon swim in Fort Copacabana at Rio 2016.

Keri-Anne Payne finished 7th in the 10km marathon swim competing in her third Olympic Games after winning a Silver Medal in 2008 and 4th place at London 2012. The main threat to Keri-Anne is expected to come from the Czech Republic's Jana Pechanova, who finished a disappointing 19th in Rio. Scottish Swimmers Danielle Huskisson and Sophie Evans will hope to upset both as they lead the domestic challenge.

Jack Burnell suffered heartache in Rio when he was disqualified at the end of the men's 10km marathon despite a British team protest. He will arrive in Loch Lomond aiming to put that behind him, but will face stiff competition from Scotland's Robbie Renwick, who won a Silver medal in Rio as part of the men's 200m freestyle relay team. Burnell and Renwick will need to look out for Germany's Christian Reichert, the 25km 2015 World Champion, and England's Tom Allen, a two-time winner of the Great North Swim.

Alongside Dougie Vipond, former Olympic bronze-medallist Steve Parry will provide expert analysis from out on the water, while Jane Lewis will be grounded and ready to interview swimmers as they emerge from the Loch. Olympians Andy Jameson and David Carry provide race commentary.
