Childhood obesity, Food foraging, Insurance renewals

The government's Childhood Obesity Plan has been criticised for being too weak, at a conference today You & Yours speaks to MPs and doctors about what needs to be done.

Today, experts gathering at a summit to discuss childhood obesity say the government's new strategy doesn't go far enough. The plan calls for manufacturers to voluntarily cut sugar in food by 20%, but doesn't ask for stricter methods like restricting advertising and banning promotions on sugary foods. We report from the conference and speak to a child who managed to lose weight.

We hear how consumers are being caught about by insurance renewals. If you don't check your annual renewal letters, you could find your premiums sky-rocketing.

In a new report, The Health Select Committee says hospital A&E wards are under strain because of a lack of funding in adult social services. Our Disability Reporter, Carolyn Atkinson, speaks to the Leonard Cheshire Charity which says all Government parties need to come together to devise a plan to solve the funding gap.

We hear how people who forage for food are turning scavenging for fruit and vegetables into professional businesses.

The company that administers the repayment loans for the government's Help to Buy scheme is delaying people moving house because it's not processing the paperwork in time. We hear from our listeners.

And, how TV Subscription services are changing our viewing habits. We want the next episode straight away - but are we being caught out by how much streaming companies charge for each series, when you can buy the DVD box set much cheaper?
