Ewan McGregor discusses his directorial debut, American Pastoral, starring himself and Dakota Fanning, plus Stephen Carty and Gavia Baker-Whitelaw review it and other new releases.

It's film day on The Janice Forsyth Show: Ewan McGregor discusses his directorial debut - an adaptation of the Philip Roth novel "American Pastoral." McGregor both stars in, and directs, this look at a family through the decades: a family who go on a journey from the American Dream to an American nightmare. It also stars Dakota Fanning and Jennifer Connelly.

Regular Critics, Stephen Carty & Gavia Baker-Whitelaw will share their thoughts on it and on this week's other big cinema releases, including, the critically- acclaimed Arrival. Starring Amy Adams, it's a science fiction film about an expert linguist employed to communicate with extra-terrestrials!

They will also discuss one of the most beloved and iconic British films of all time - a new blu-ray release of Kes -Ken Loach's quintessential portrait of working-class life in the late '60's, in Northern England.(voted in the top 10 of all time by the British Film Institute.)

And later in the show, in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the release of his classic album, Boat to Bolivia, Martin Stephenson performs live in the studio and previews perhaps the biggest Martin Stephenson and the Daintees tour for years!

All that and the Dunoon Film Festival - Festival Director, Sean Greenhorn and Stanley Kubrick's Exec Producer, Jan Harlan discuss this year's big bash which includes STANLEY KUBRICK: A LIFE IN PICTURES - Jan's feature length documentary on the late great American Film-maker.
