People who are very ill or who have complex medical needs are being failed by an NHS funding system which isn't 'fit for purpose'. A new report from 13 major charities says that some people aren't getting the care funding they are entitled to from NHS Continuing Healthcare, because of a 'flawed' system which is slow, patchy and can deny funding to people who a team of professionals have deemed eligible. You & Yours hears from someone who takes part in the NHS Continuing Healthcare assessment process and says that NHS guidelines are being interpreted differently across England.

A hundred football clubs in Holland have stopped using artificial grass pitches made from rubber crumb from broken down car tyres because of health concerns. Authorities in the EU and the US have launched studies into fears that the covering for football pitches and playgrounds might be carcinogenic.
