Mark Stephen and Euan McIlwraith present a special programme live from Mar Lodge with stories from Braemar and the surrounding area.

This week's programme comes from the Mar Lodge Esate, Braemar.

Mark finds out about the work of the National Trust on the estate from ecologist Shailia Rao and how things have changed since they took it over in 1995.

Euan visits Kindrochit Castle in Braemar and chats to Pete Mulvey about the project to make it more of a focus in the village.

Bob Scott was a legend in mountaineering circles in the East Cairngorm area and his legend lives on in the bothy that's named after him. Mark takes a walk to the bothy with local historian Doug Bruce who remembers Bob Scott and some of his stories very well.

Mark visits the Braemar Mountain Rescue base in the village and speaks to member Malcolm MacIntyre about the team and their importance for the local area and all the people who walk and hike in the hills.

Last year and earlier this year Deeside was badly affected by flooding. Mark meets Will Boyd-Wallis, Head of Land Management & Conservation with the Cairngorms National Park Authority to find out what steps they are taking to prevent such bad flooding in the future.

The recently formed Braemar Outdoor Group organise path repairs and are currently looking to join the Queen's Drive walk to continue the Deeside way along to the Bridge of Dee. Laura meets founding member Rhi Turner to find out about their plans.
The group are also organising a Mountain Festival to be held in March 2017. Sue Harper explains how the idea came about and what will be happening.

And ahead of this year's ski season, Euan is at the UK's largest centre, Glenshee to find out how preparations are going.
