Travis, Christmas TV, The Commitments: the Musical

Janice Forsyth tunes into what's happening across Scotland. Includes Travis, a preview of literary dramas on Christmas TV, and Kevin Kennedy on The Commitments: The Musical.

Travis play a Christmas gig in Glasgow tonight and join Janice in studio for a festive chat ahead of their soundcheck.

Kevin Kennedy (formerly Coronation Street's Curly Watts) is joined by fellow cast members Leah Penston and Christina Tedders to talk about starring in The Commitments: The Musical in Glasgow this Christmas-time.

Christmas TV: literary-based dramas are previewed by authors Kirsty Logan and Doug Johnstone.

The RIBA House of the Year 2016 winner was announced last week as The Murphy House in Edinburgh. Architect and owner Richard Murphy will be in to discuss his celebrated home.

Fancy a good read for the holidays? Arthur Conan Doyle's gothic short stories, which he felt were much closer to his heart than Sherlock Holmes, are collected in a new anthology and editor Darryl Jones explains why they are literary gems.

And Chitra's first pantomime: author Chitra Ramaswamy had made it into her 30s without seeing a panto. We remedied that by sending off to experience the rambunctious fun for herself. She gives Janice her verdict.
