A Books Special with Janice Forsyth

Another chance to hear Janice Forsyth talking to writers Denise Mina, AL Kennedy, Brian Conaghan, Samantha Shannnon, John Burnside and Sarah Pinborough.

Janice revists some of the writers who have been on the show earlier this year, including Denise Mina whose latest chilling read The Long Drop is about Scotland's first convicted serial killer, Peter Manuel. A L Kennedy tells her about taking her first steps into writing for children with Uncle Shawn and Bill and the Almost Entirely Unplanned Adventure and Brian Conaghan shares his surprise at winning the 2017 Costa Children's Book Award with you novel The Bombs That Brought Us Together. We also hear from Young Adult and now Adult fiction writer Samantha Shannnon whose third book The Song Rising is part of a seven book publishing deal, John Burnside tells Janice about his 10th novel Ashland and Vine and his unusually titled 16th poetry collection, Still Life with Feeding Snake. Finally Sarah Pinborough's psychological thriller Behind Her Eyes which has been hailed as a publishing sensation with an apparently unexpected ending.
