Air Traffic Controller Andrew Crompton already has a job offer in Australia. Will a trial week there persuade his wife this is where their family should be living?

A family face a life-changing decision after spending a trial week living in Australia having to choose between emigrating down under or staying put in the UK. When Air Traffic Controller Andrew Crompton applied for a job in Australia, wife Gemma was hoping it was a flash in the pan idea that would soon disappear. Months later however Andrew's secured a job offer meaning his family could soon be jetting off for a new life on the other side of the world.

Gemma isn't convinced Australia is where her family should spend the rest of their lives though. Having previously served abroad in the Armed Forces she's more than happy to be at home and the thought of leaving close family brings her to tears.

Spending a week on the Sunshine Coast, Gemma is impressed by what the country can offer her family. But when it comes to the crunch -will she decide to green light her husband's ambition to move or decide home is where the heart is?

Crompton family update

Since filming their revisit the Crompton family have had another big change! Andy got an opportunity to move from Brisbane Airport to the Gold Coast Airport, 2.5 hours south of the Sunshine Coast. The family decided to make the move, swapping their rainforest home for the beach life, with a rental that is walking distance from the surf.

The children moved schools and Gemma is about to start work for another Radiology company. They are really living the dream now, with the true Aussie lifestyle on their doorstep.

Andy has swapped his two hour daily commute to Brisbane for a 15 minute cycle to Gold Coast Airport. They now spend their free time bodysurfing and paddle boarding, and the dogs are loving their daily walks on the Gold Coast southern beaches!
