Music journalist David Hepworth joins Mark Radcliffe to chat about his new book Uncommon People: The Rise and Fall of the Rock Stars. Hailing from Dewsbury in Yorkshire, David first found his love of music working in record shops before freelancing for NME and Sounds. In 1979 he joined Smash Hits and two years later he became editor. He then launched several titles including Q, More, Empire, Mojo, Heat and Just Seventeen. His latest book looks at the defining moments and turning points in the lives of forty rock stars from 1955 to 1995.
