Euan McIlwraith visits a Galloway farm trying a new livestock technique mimicking natural processes, plus Mark Stephen meets ranger Louise Medine at The Hermitage near Dunkeld.

Euan visits a Galloway dairy farm where they are trying a new technique which mimics the natural process of cow and calf by allowing them to stay together which is something that does not normally happen. David Findlay supplies his Cream o Galloway business with milk from happy cows.

The Hermitage near Dunkeld boasts almost 200 000 visitors a year and most recently these numbers have been boosted by a colony of beavers who have taken up residence at the river bank near the car park, very close to the A9. Mark meets Rangers Louise Medine.

Make no bones about it, Mark and Euan are steam railway enthusiasts. Mark pays a return visit to the Edinburgh Society of Model Engineers at their recently acquired site at Almondell near Broxburn to see how things are progressing.

Now how do you fancy running your own bird reserve? Euan discovers that's exactly what Julian Smith set out to do 30 years ago. What started as a waste patch of ground near Dunnett Head has been transformed by Julian and his partner Rosemary into a wildlife haven which is now open to the public.

Mark visits taxidermist Emma Willats. Emma collects roadkill to turn it into sporrans and other works of art but she's also a vegan.

The Out of Doors team are about to set off on the North Coast 500 route. They're using an electric car and Mark and Euan find out from Chris Ramsay from Plug In Adventures who's already done the route in an electric car, what to expect.

Tom Campbell, Managing Director of the North Coast 500 gives the background to the route and top tips for the team before they set off.
