Jules Hudson investigates how plastic is clogging up our rivers and waterways and ending up in听our seas. He meets paddleboarding eco-warrior Lizzie Carr on the Kennet & Avon canal to learn about her epic journey across the UK鈥檚 waterways collecting plastic, and finds out what we can do to help prevent plastic pollution.

At 45 hectares, North Meadow in Wiltshire is one of the largest and most important meadows left in the UK. It鈥檚 an ancient site that's teeming with life. In fact, it has the largest UK population of rare Snake鈥檚 Head Fritillaries. We catch up with the conservationists preserving the delicate balance of this scarce and diverse habitat. John hears how the North Meadow鈥檚 uninterrupted agricultural history has created a rare environment that鈥檚 lasted for more than 800 years.

Championship growers, Ian Neil and Kevin Fortey are back to give Paul Martin tips on how to grow huge veg on his land, but their styles are very different. Ian favours traditional methods, whereas Kevin has some high tech hydroponic tricks up his sleeve.

Last year microbeads were public enemy number one. Following a series of successful campaigns they are now due to be banned later this year. However, there are still plenty more micro-plastics in our environment that could be prevented from entering the sea. Jules is in Plymouth to conduct a trawl with a difference to find out what is lurking in our marine environments and how it could be linked to what we put in the washing machine.
