Johnny Ball

Celebrities choose the TV moments that shaped their lives. Johnny Ball talks about the stars who inspired him to go down the road of becoming a stand-up comedian.

The TV That Made Me returns for a sizzling second series with legendary entertainer Brian Conley as he journeys through the fantastic world of television with some of our favourite celebrities who have chosen the TV moments that have shaped their lives

National treasure Johnny Ball joins Brian on the sofa to talk about the TV that shaped him. He is the man who millions of us grew up with during his 16-year residency on Playschool. We find out how he got his name from a football star, about the TV he watched every week with his colleagues when he was in the RAF and about the stars who inspired him to go down the road of becoming a stand-up comedian.

Along the way, we take a look at the big Sunday night entertainment show that was required viewing in the Ball household, a classic documentary series that sparked his love of science, and the vintage TV ad that kept his teeth whiter than white. Throw some serious science into the mix, and you really do start to see how TV made the irrepressible Johnny Ball the man he is today.
