Pettifers Garden

Pettifers Garden

The garden at Pettifers was a blank canvas when Gina Price arrived in 1984. At first, she used shrubs and roses to fill the borders, but as time went on, she became more and more interested in the use of grasses and perennials planted in big drifts. It is a beautiful garden to visit in summer and autumn, and visitors are welcome by appointment.

Foliage man

Foliage man

John Plant can鈥檛 be doing with flowers! It鈥檚 all about foliage in his garden. Hostas, heucheras and tiarellas are just some of the leafy plants he loves to grow. If you鈥檇 like to see for yourself, he opens for the NGS in May and July, and also by arrangement for groups of 15 or more. One for your diary next year maybe?

Guy鈥檚 Cliffe Walled Garden

Guy鈥檚 Cliffe Walled Garden

In January 2014, restoration work began on Guy鈥檚 Cliffe Walled Garden. It had become totally overgrown and derelict, but the Trust got to work and local volunteers gave up 14,000 hours of their time to pull it back into shape. They are continuing to restore the garden for the enjoyment and educational benefit of the local community, so if you live in the area and feel like joining in, check out the website below.
