Radio 2 Young Brass Award Winner Isobel Daws

A feature spot in concert at a prestigious event is part of the prize for winning the Radio 2 Young Brass Award. The 2017 winner Isobel Daws plays with Cory band in Symphony Hall.

The Radio 2 Young Brass Award Winner 2017, trombonist Isobel Daws, joins the World's Number 1 band Cory for their Sunday Brass Band Gala Concert and plays again the ever popular Rhapsody for Trombone by Gordon Langford. The judges at this prestigious 主播大秀 event were unanimous in their praise of Isobel's playing: "High quality playing and mature musicianship", "A great direct connection with the audience", "Lovely sense of style and super technique" were just some of the comments.

Recorded in Symphony Hall a few days ago, Isobel also tells Frank Renton about her experiences of the competition, of playing with Cory and of her future plans. The Cory Band are conducted by Philip Harper and include his exciting arrangement of a Nordic Polka plus the classic cornet solo Paragon played by one of the band's stars Tom Hutchinson.
