Ricky talks to prolific author, Thomas Keneally, whose best-selling book, Schindler's Ark, became the basis of the Oscar-winning film, Schindler's List. Born into an Australian Catholic family, as a young man he studied for the priesthood but left just before ordination. It's his experiences in the seminary and his relationship with the Catholic Church that form the backdrop to his latest novel, The Crimes Of The Father.

The referendum for Catalan independence and the violent disturbances that followed have been described as Spain's biggest crisis for a generation. With the ongoing serious political tension there are increasing calls for religious leaders to help mediate between Catalonia and the Spanish authorities. But given such complicated and inter-connected religious, political and cultural histories, can church and civic institutions provide the leadership needed? Ricky's joined by Oliver Escobar , a Lecturer in Public Policy and Co-Director of What Works Scotland at Edinburgh University , and Ronnie Convery, from the Archdiocese of Glasgow.

Scotland's annual Mental Health Arts and Film Festival goes front-of-stage next week. One of the largest of its kind in the world, the Festival aims to support the arts and challenge preconceived ideas about mental health. Associate artist with the Festival, Emma Jayne Park, has drawn on her own experience of cancer to create a performance which she hopes will help others understand the mental as well as the physical effects of the disease.

Charities involved in supporting parents who have lost babies say that more could be done to help bereaved parents. They're highlighting the issue at the start of Baby Loss Awareness Week. Ricky speaks to three mothers who've all had personal experience of such loss - Marion Currie of the charity Sands , Nicola Welsh of SANDS Lothians and Mina who lost her baby son almost sixty years ago.
