Episode 2

Gillian Burke reveals the latest in her fox intelligence test, while Chris Packham, Michaela Strachan and Martin Hughes-Games are live from the Gloucestershire countryside.

Gillian Burke has the latest update on her fox intelligence test from an urban garden in Bournemouth, where Teardrop the young fox has moved on from the simple pull test to a much more complex setup.

Chris Packham, Michaela Strachan and Martin Hughes-Games are in the Gloucestershire countryside. They are picking up on some more of the stories from Springwatch, including the astonishing peregrine story that caught their imagination. An orphan chick was fostered onto the family we were following high up on Salisbury cathedral, and the good news is that both the orphan and the original chick fledged successfully.

The team also checks in on what the live cameras have been catching - from an enterprising tawny owl trying to catch mice and rats over the river, to an otter swimming past, as well as the gloriously coloured duo of trout and kingfisher.

Martin sets out to investigate the deer of Sherborne, on the trail of the elusive fallow, roe and mutjac that lurk in the woods. Plus there is a stunning film shot in September about the willow emerald damselfly, which has a very unusual egg laying habit.

Lucy Cooke has been in Scotland on the trail of the second largest fish in the world. The team also meets an extraordinary poet who has Cerebral Palsy, who has created a beautiful display of his poems amongst the autumn colours of Westonbirt Arboretum.
