There is an unusual aircraft at Perth Airport - the gyrocopter. We take a flight with instructor Kevin Whitehead.

Anns an t-sreath-sa bidh sinn a' faighinn a-mach dè a tha a' dol air adhart air cùl ghnothaichean aig puirt-adhair na Gàidhealtachd is nan Eilean tro shùilean an fheadhainn a tha ag obair annta, agus bidh sinn a' coinneachadh ri feadhainn eile a bhios a' sgèith airson spòrs. An t-seachdain-sa, an dàrna latha dhen cheud fharpais mhòr san t-seusan aig Club Glaidhdearan na Gàidhealtachd faisg air Eilginn, agus tha na pìleatan an dòchas gum bi aimsir nas fheàrr aca na bh' ann an-dè... ach chan eil e a' coimhead gealltanach. Aig Port-adhair Sumburgh, tha seusan trang an t-samhraidh air tòiseachadh, agus tha sin a' ciallachadh nach eil fois ann dha Avril Irvine agus an sgioba aig Loganair. Agus, a-measg nam plèanaichean beaga a tha stèidhte aig Port-adhair Pheairt, tha aon phlèana ann a tha buileach annasach... an girocoptair.

This series gives viewers a behind-the-scenes view of the airports across the Highlands and islands, through the eyes of the people who work there, and we also meet some people who take to the skies for leisure.

It's the second day of the first big competition of the season at the Highland Gliding Club near Elgin, and the pilots are looking for an improvement on yesterday's poor weather, but it's not looking hopeful.

At Sumburgh Airport in Shetland, the busy summer season has begun which means it's nonstop for Avril Irvine and the rest of the team at Loganair. And, Perth Airport is home to a wide variety of light aircraft from single prop planes to microlights, but one stands out for being particularly unusual: the gyrocopter. We take a flight with instructor Kevin Whitehead to find out more about this extraordinary flying machine.
