Calderdale

Series presented by Kevin Duala in which local people pitch ideas to help their community. Calderdale locals pitch their ideas to residents.

It has been almost two years since Calderdale in Yorkshire was devastated by the Boxing Day 2015 floods, but rarely has a community been so strong in pulling together and rebuilding. Some Calderdale locals get together to pitch their ideas for a project that could make a big improvement in their neighbourhood. Having donated to the community fund, residents gather in Hebden Bridge's Little Theatre to decide between four unique ideas.

Viewers meet Adrian, who wants funds to monitor rain water and reduce the risk of another flood, while Catherine wants cash to upgrade the facilities at her mother-and-baby group. Local radio enthusiasts Howard and Ilyas want to record life stories of locals for a global audience, while John wants to make the iconic local canals more attractive and enjoyable for all.

The local people decide who takes home the money and makes their dream project a reality. Viewers catch up four weeks later to see the winning project in action, and reflect on what the experience has meant to the community.
