Series in which British families explore the idea of moving to Australia or New Zealand. Sue is desperate to move Down Under but her family are far from sold.

Sue Evans feels her family is at breaking point - and sees a new start in Australia as the only way out. There is just one problem - most of her family don't agree.

Having just had baby number four, Sue is feeling the strain of husband Matt's workload, which takes him away from their home in Rainham in Kent most weekdays - and many weekends as well. It doesn't leave much time for family. And the couple are like ships in the night. They are beginning to feel their marriage has lost its sparkle.

Memories of a gap year spent down under in her twenties has painted a rosy hue of life in the southern hemisphere and Sue is convinced it is the place for her young family to make the best of life. Although Matt knows things have to change, he doesn't necessarily share Sue's vision. He thinks it is too risky to give up all he has worked hard to provide and is reluctant to gamble everything on a country he has never even been too. And he is not the only one questioning a move. Eldest daughter Bethany is far from keen to leave her friends and family.

Sue has got seven days to sell the Aussie dream to all of her family. Across the week, they get to see where they might live in Brisbane, what they can afford and the jobs they could get if they emigrated. Then at the end, they come to a final decision - and vote.

Evans family update

Since we last caught up with the Evans family, they were still in the UK.聽 Matt was offered a sponsorship job in Brisbane, however the wage wasn鈥檛 enough to live on for a family of six and with school and health cost fees.

Bethany started secondary school and is making good progress and settled in really well, she has made friends with a lovely group of girls.聽 Lauren is nearly walking and sleeping through the night and Jenson is still a live-wire who doesn鈥檛 sit still.聽 Sian is now in Year 1 and doing really well,.聽 She is聽a member of a gymnastics club and thoroughly enjoying it and giving her lots of confidence. She has not needed her asthma pump for a while.聽

Matt and Sue are still working a lot, but we do make time for one another now. Matt tries聽not to work every weekend so he鈥檚 home to watch the girls at their swimming, gymnastics and netball clubs.
