Sun and Moon from Miss Saigon

Sun and Moon from Miss Saigon

Cameron Mackintosh’s new production of Boublil and Schönberg’s legendary musical, MISS SAIGON, opened last week at Edinburgh’s Festival Theatre, for a month-long run, part of the national tour following smash hit runs in the West End and on Broadway.

Based on Madame Butterfly, it’s a story of love and war, set during the last days of the Vietnam War. 17 year-old Kim is forced to work in a Saigon bar run by a notorious character known as the Engineer. There she meets and falls in love with Chris, an American GI, but they’re torn apart by the fall of Saigon. For 3 years Kim goes on a journey of survival to find her way back to Chris, who has no idea he's fathered a son.

Northern Flyway is the creation of Inge Thomson and Jenny Sturgeon and explores the ecology, folklore, symbolism and mythology of birds and birdsong.

It was a sell-out at its premiere on Saturday at the Barn in Banchory – and this weekend there are two performances at the Tron Theatre in Glasgow for Celtic Connections.
